NUANS Preliminary Search
To register your business as a corporation in Canada, the first step is to search and reserve a corporate name. The provinces of Alberta, Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI use NUANS search reports for their respective provinces to search and reserve a corporate name for their jurisdiction.
A NUANS preliminary search is used to screen business names before ordering a full search. Some keywords are so common that there will be far too many results to send to you, so we limit NUANS preliminary search results to the first 300 trade names and trademarks.
We recommend that you order a NUANS Pre-Search to determine if there are any potential conflicts before ordering an official NUANS report.
